“Rehab and Joint Replacements” will be presented by physical therapist Don Harris October 19th at 6:30 p.m. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1630 Ashland Road in Mansfield.

Many people are undergoing a joint replacement, especially at Samaritan Regional Health System, where more joint replacements are done than any other health care organization in the area. As a result of their new joint, 97% of these patients experienced significant or total improvement in their daily activities.

Rehabilitation plays a key role in this success rate, as patients are given exercises to perform both before and after surgery. While Harris will focus on the rehabilitation piece of joint replacements, he will also discuss who would benefit from this surgery and explain the surgical process.
