Twenty of sixty-three members of the Samaritans Annual Giving Club met on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 for their annual meeting.  Members were briefed on the upcoming renovation of the Birthing and Women’s Unit by the B&W Unit Director, Melissa Winfield.  She introduced Ashland’s newest OB-GYNs, Dr. Jerome Klobutcher and Dr. Roopa Gupta, members of Samaritan Women’s Care.  A video tour of the newly renovated Emergency Department was shown and was followed by a video presentation about the plans for the new Birthing and Women’s Unit.

Mona Campbell gave a membership update and welcomed two new members to the organization.   The members in attendance were presented with the “Equipment Wish List” for SRHS.  This year the Samaritans contributed $7,550 towards the purchase of equipment.  After reviewing the items on the list the group voted to support the purchase of a VitalStim for Rehab, an Irrigation Warmer for Surgery and two specialized racks for Sterile Processing.  Above picture is of Peg Fulton a Samaritan member presenting a check to Don Harris, Director of
