Samaritan Hospital Foundation Hosts 27th Annual Charity Golf Classic

The 27th Annual Samaritan Hospital Foundation Charity Golf Classic was held at the Ashland Golf Club on Friday, June 21, 2013.  Thirty-four teams participated in the scramble under sunny skies.  The winning team was sponsored by Ashland ENT, Allergy & Hearing Aid Center and consisted of Dr. Andrew Stein, Dr. Dan Denbow, Scott Green and Eric Dowiatt.  Coming in 2nd place was the team sponsored by Buren Insurance Group:  Paul Myers, Jim Messner, Jeff Leonard and Mike Buckingham.  Finishing in 3rd place:  Tim Baker, Jeff Honaker, Chad Honaker and Paul Kehl – team sponsored by Westfield Bank. Simonson Construction Services, Inc. was the Tournament Sponsor for the event with Cerner, OhioHealth, Morrison Management Services, Axia Advisory and Plante Moran serving as the other Major Sponsors.  $15,000 of the proceeds from this year’s golf outing will be used to help fund the purchase of Digital Mammography equipment for Samaritan Regional Health System.  The new equipment is located at T.W Miller Women’s Health Services on Mifflin Ave. and at Samaritan Hospital.  Digital mammography is a new ally in the fight against breast cancer.  It aids in early detection which is key to successful treatment.    $5,000 of this year’s golf outing proceeds will be used to help Ashland City Police Department and our local schools receive the training needed to prepare administrators, staff and students to react quickly and decisively during an attack situation at school using the ALICE Model of defense.  The funds will also be used to provide additional safety equipment and first aid materials for classrooms. « Back to General News Releases
