Samaritan Hospital Foundation Distributes $43,500 in Medical Field Scholastic Awards

Samaritan Hospital Foundation (SHF) and University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center (UHSMC) awarded $43,500 in medical scholastic awards to 32 area students.

The top two scholastic awards of $2,500 went to: Lynsey Plues and Emma Swain (pictured), who are each receiving $2,000 from UHSMC/SHF and $500 each from Samaritan Hospital Hospitality Shop. Lynsey and Emma both attend Grand Valley State University and are pursuing careers in nursing.

Other scholastic recipients are Lauren Beattie who is receiving $1,000 from the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Award and is continuing her nursing career at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Tristan Bender is receiving $1,000 from the Alice Stinchcomb Scholastic Award. Bender is attending the University of Mount Union. Kaylee Crossen is receiving $1,000 from the Gounder & Ponnammal Scholastic Award and Ella Yoder is receiving $1,000 from NCSC and attending North Central State College.
